Seán Ryan’s Reel

The first of hopefully many scores to come. Here’s Seán Ryan’s Reel. This was written by Irish Fiddler Seán Ryan from County Laois and first recorded in the 1960’s.

This version is transcribed for the tin whistle, though of course you could play it on any other instrument you see fit. A few notes, the triplets look a little weird, but that’s the best I could figure out with the software. Also, there are two versions here, an advanced version with rolls and a basic version without, otherwise they’re the same.

If you import this into any other number of midi players you should be able to slow it down for ease of learning and the free Musescore (which I transcribed this in) will even show you the note you’re on in real time.
